a sunny afternoon
the chirping birds
the sunlight streaming
across my newly-made bed
and spilling its touch
across my toes
which i crinkle in delight
warmth fills my body
and a smile lights up my face
beauty
beauty
what everyone sees
and yet spurns
at the same time.
